Criticare ad arte
The Criticare ad Arte project was born at Trallallero, a truly detailed and constructive discussion among artists, companies and operators on the creations presented during the festival. These are real exercises in constructive criticism that can change the fate of a performance.
Criticare ad Arte is a project developed MateâriuM and is a useful tool for learning how to give and receive effective opinions. Through the analysis of a previewed play, companies learn to look at their own work through other eyes while acquiring new tools to improve the performance.
The goal of Criticare ad Arte is to move away from the logic of beautiful and ugly, right and wrong, and the more common like it and dislike it, and move on to train the critical sense, formulating comments capable of highlighting the strengths, problems, and potential of the work presented.
International tool
Within the Trallallero festival, Criticare ad Arte has become a significant project for artists and professionals, so much so that it was selected in 2024 at the Assitej world congress to represent Italy.
On that occasion Trallallero festival, a partner of Mateârium, presented an original tool “il Criticometro” to an audience of experts in the theatrical world for the new generations.
Little critics
In the wake of this recognition, during the 2024 edition of the Trallallero festival, Criticare ad Arte kicked off a new experiment by opening the structured post-show dialogue for the first time to the audience as well, the audience formed by elementary school children and their teachers.

A true innovation and a great stimulus for companies as well as an excellent tool for teachers in reworking the performance in the classroom by working on emotions and lived experience.
